Warning about identity misuse.

Important information about identity misuse and deceptive online offers.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

What this is about

Unknown third parties impersonate Gesellschaft für Kryptoregisterführung mbH (GfK) to investors or falsely claim a connection to it. They use genuine company information, including our company name, address, commercial register details, BaFin authorisation details and the names of our managing directors. These details are publicly accessible and may therefore be misused for deceptive appearances.

These websites seek to inspire trust and induce people to make investments, payments or disclose personal data. GfK has no connection with these offers.

GfK is aware of online offers about which BaFin has published specific warnings. These offers use or claim a connection to GfK but do not originate from us. The relevant web addresses are explicitly listed in the “BaFin warnings” section.

Our authorised websites

GfK operates only the following websites:

  • kryptoregisterfuehrung.de
  • www.kryptoregisterfuehrung.de

GfK does not operate any other websites or subdomains.

Emails from GfK are sent exclusively from addresses with the sender domain:

  • @kryptoregisterfuehrung.de

Please note: an email’s visible sender address can be technically forged. Always check the full sender address in unexpected messages. If in doubt, contact us only through the contact channels published on this website.

Websites, profiles or messages outside these channels do not originate from us if they claim to be GfK or to act on our behalf. This does not affect websites that legitimately mention GfK, such as judicial registers, BaFin publications or LEI directories.

What we do – and what we do not do

GfK maintains crypto securities registers under the German Electronic Securities Act. It holds an authorisation for crypto securities register maintenance under section 32(1), sentence 1 KWG and is supervised by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority.

In particular, GfK does not offer:

  • Investment advice;
  • Custody of crypto assets or crypto securities;
  • Placement of crypto securities;
  • Payment services or other payment transactions for customers, investors or issuers;
  • Account management or the provision of payment accounts for customers, investors or issuers;
  • Acting as a paying agent for interest, principal repayments or other payments.

Payments relating to crypto securities are made directly to the entitled person by the issuer or a paying agent appointed by the issuer. GfK is not a paying agent. It does not receive, hold or forward funds for this purpose and does not maintain payment accounts. Where agreed, it only supports verification of the entitled person’s identity and the transmission of information required for this purpose.

If any of these services are offered to you in our name, the offer does not come from us.

  • It is claimed that GfK must receive, forward or hold payments for you, act as a paying agent or maintain an account for you.
  • You receive unsolicited contact despite having no business relationship with us.
  • You are put under time pressure or asked for identity documents, login credentials, private keys or recovery phrases.

What you should do

  • Do not click suspicious links or open unexpected attachments.
  • Do not respond with personal data, login credentials, private keys, recovery phrases or copies of identity documents.
  • Do not make payments.
  • Check the web address against the list above.
  • Report the incident to us using the contact details below. Helpful information includes the full web address, the email address or telephone number used, the date and time of contact and screenshots, if available.

Please do not send us personal data of third parties that is unnecessary for reviewing the incident.
